Our Campaign's Top Issues
America deserves a raise! The federal minimum wage is just $7.25 and has not been increased since 2009 while the cost of living continues to rise. We will fight to give Americans the wages they deserve and support ongoing legislation that will get us closer to our goal of a $25/hr minimum wage, like the Raise the Wage Act of 2025.
We cannot afford to let wages continue to stagnate as billionaires continue to line their pockets at the expense of the working class. CEO pay is rising almost twice as quickly as the average worker's pay!
The United States is the only major nation in the world that does not provide health care for everyone as a right. Under the Medicare for All Act, every resident of the U.S. will receive health insurance through an expanded Medicare program. We will fight to pass this into law because nobody deserves to go into debt because they got sick.
Even the Koch brothers have (accidentally) admitted that Medicare for All will save us $2 trillion over a 10-year period! Not to mention the number of lives that will be saved by giving Americans access to real healthcare that isn't tied to their employer.
Like many other issues, healthcare and labor in America go hand in hand. Today's system of tying your healthcare to your employer gives corporations an inherent advantage when negotiating wages and other benefits. Just another reason to align with the rest of the developed world and give Americans the single-payer healthcare system they deserve!
Organizing your workplace is a right that cannot be compromised. We need to hold corporations accountable for violating labor laws, illegally firing pro-union workers, and delaying the recognition of unions. The PRO Act is a foundational step towards empowering American labor.
Rebuilding the union movement is imperative to reducing the gap between the billionaire class and the rest of us. Union support is steadily rising and we cannot let this moment go to waste. Americans understand that policies like the PRO Act, like the Workplace Democracy Act, and like the Protect America's Workforce Act are necessary to ensuring a brighter future for the American working class.
Billionaires should not be able to buy our elections. If we want to advance any part of our platform, it is imperative that we overturn Citizen's United and move towards the public funding of elections. Both parties are guilty of letting corporations influence their positions on critical issues like raising wages and protecting American labor.
We cannot be afraid of speaking out against those within the Democratic Party who have chosen to prioritize big money interests over the American working class. Whether it's Big Pharma or AIPAC, we must stand against billionaires, corporations and anyone else who is working to hinder progress for everyday Americans.
Israel is committing a genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza. There is no amount of AIPAC money that could keep me from speaking the truth.
American tax dollars should not be going towards the bombing of children, journalists, and even American citizens. It's time for the United States to stop sending billions in military aid to the Israeli government. Any Democrat who can't be trusted to stand up to a genocidal maniac like Benjamin Netenyahu, can't be trusted to stand up to Donald Trump and his GOP.
Scapegoating immigrants will not improve the material conditions of America. It is beyond time for a path to citizenship for all undocumented people in our country, including DREAMers. Our broken immigration system has created incentives for corporations to further abuse labor and now the Trump administration has even gone so far as to deport immigrants who are seeking citizenship through the proper legal channels.
Instead of wasting billions on ICE or a border wall, we should be building a fair and accessible pathway to legal status and citizenship with quicker processing times.
Immigration reform is inherently tied to the labor movement because American labor is only as strong as its most vulnerable workers. Providing undocumented workers with a clear path to legal status without fear of retaliation strengthens our ability to fight back against the greed of corporations and billionaires.
